In 1833, He Left His Home And Studied In Italy For Nine Years, Where He Worked For Bertel Thorvaldsen And Others. Back In England, He Became A Teacher At The School Of Design And Later On, He Worked At A Company That Specialised In The Production Of Bronze Statues. One Of His Works Is The Wellington Monument In St. Paul’S Cathedral. Stevens Died On 1St May 1875 In His London Atelier.
