Ernst Barlach, A German Sculptor, Illustrator And Writer From Wedel, Was Born On January 2, 1870 And Died On October 24, 1938. Ernst Barlach’S Plastics Were Mostly Made Of Wood And Bronze And Are Located Somewhere Between Realism And Expressionism. Ernst Barlach Attended Many Famous Colleges Of Art, Such As The Academy Of Arts In Dresden, And Went On Many Trips All Over Europe – Including France, Italy And Russia – In Order To Study The Ways Of Humans In All Their Facets And In All Kinds Of Situations. The Descendant’S Estate Of Ernst Barlach Is Exhibited In Güstrow And Managed By The Ernst-Barlach-Foundation. Some Of His Artwork Was Posthumous Shown At The Documenta I And The Documenta Ii. Furthermore The Vienna Leopold Museum Holds A Retrospective Of His Sculptures In 2009. “The Singing Man”, Once Created In 1928, Became His Most Famous Sculpture Ever. Besides Other Museums It Is Also Exhibited At The Famous Museum Of Modern Art In New York, America. Barlach Got Honoured A Lot During His Lifetime; He Was A Member Of Honour Of The Munich Academy Of Arts, He Was Also Posthumous Named A Honorary Citizen Of His Birthplace Güstrow And Became A Member Of Honour Of The Vienna Secession, Only To Name A Few
